Hi, my name is Kim and this is my husband Peter and my two girls, Tayla and Paige. We are the owners and operators of our gorgeous mobile bar, who we have lovingly named Charlie. It was in 2014 when we were married in Kangaroo Valley that we first came up with the idea of a horse float mobile bar service, after seeing a gorgeous caravan bar at a wedding expo. Being that we love the country, we were excited about the prospect of converting a horse float. With life and new work commitments it would not be until 2017 until we were able to begin our new family adventure. We decided to purchase a shiny new horse float and have it converted and left white, so that we could customise Charlie to fit any wedding theme. Over the next year we began working to bring Charlie to life, researching and building our vision from the ground up. We wanted a mobile bar that would provide a high-quality service, a friendly and relaxed country charm, a homely familial atmosphere, a flexible and accommodating disposition, all packaged in a handsome, fun horse float.
I’ve always had a passion for DIY projects and planning for parties and events. I am a trained primary school teacher and although I love my job, I wanted another creative outlet in my life. My hubby, Peter, and I are passionate about travelling and camping, and have been fortunate to have met some really wonderful people in our travels. We both strongly believe that a special connection is made when two strangers sit together and share a drink and a story, be it a cold beer, a glass of wine, a Coke or a cuppa. It was through these personal passions and beliefs that our mobile bar dream was born. We found a way to incorporate all the things we loved into one job. We love travelling and sharing Charlie with as many people as possible. We love that we are the reason people come together, and we love that every journey and every event brings opportunities for new friends and new experiences.
My husband Peter, is just an amazing human being. I could be bias but seriously, this man is the bomb! I would drop a vague half-thought out idea in front of him and he’d not only build it, he’d bring it to life and give it a personality of its own. He began with our beautiful wedding decorations, in particular, our LOVE signs. From there we moved on to all the wonderful planned projects we had for Charlie, the bar itself being Peter's most treasured baby (be sure to admire it). There were setbacks and many challenges, and Peter conquered every one of them, sometimes through blood, sweat and many, many bad words lol. But his projects were always finished to a standard above and beyond our expectations. Everything you see in and around Charlie is the result of joint conversations and ideas suggested by all four of us, and where we could, they have been made by hand. We are very proud of Country Cantinas, and we love to talk about all things Charlie, so if you have any questions or just want to share a story, just pull up a stool, get comfortable and we’ll pour you a drink.
Our girls Tayla & Paige have always supported the idea of Charlie and have been excited from the beginning to see him up and running. Both hold their RSA certificates and are experienced behind the bar. Tayla has enjoyed working as a barmaid in large popular bars in and around Western Sydney for a few years while studying. She has played a key role in helping to ensure that the mobile bar service we offer runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible based on her extensive work experience. Tayla is also creative and is our go to girl for coming up with amazing signature cocktails and drinks designed specifically to meet the unique personalities of our brides and grooms.
Paige is also very creative, she is high spirited and is passionate about any project she takes on. She is always full of great ideas and her enthusiasm is truly infectious once she’s off and running! So if you have any specific ideas, no matter how 'out there' they may be, she is our go to girl for taking your event to the next level! Paige is also a very talented and experienced make up artist specialising in bridal, period, screen & media, and special effects makeup. She has her own business, Double Impact, and so should you require a makeup artist for your special day, she’s your gal (pending availability)
Peter and I have absolute adoration for the country and all it has to offer, the landscape, the lifestyle, the charm, the ambience, and the slow, relaxed pace. We spend a lot of time travelling and staying in country areas, often camping, and so it was really a no-brainer when it came time for us to decide the theme and look for our mobile bar.
Country Cantinas is a business born from passion and love. Our love for the wedding industry, for working and meeting new people, for enjoying a drink and a yarn, and for the next big adventure, is what grew this initial idea.
Our goal is to offer a standard of wedding service that upholds the integrity and values expected by our customers, the community, and of course, ourselves. Our mobile bar service has been created to adapt to any special occasion be it a personal or business event. We aim to offer consistently high levels of service and professionalism while ensuring our presence provides a fun and friendly experience your guests will remember for years to come.
We love to meet with our prospective bride and grooms so that we can discuss in more detail the vision and dreams for their big day. Call or email us using the form above to arrange a no obligation, informal coffee and chat :)
